The new Sony VRD MC-10 DVD Recorder will record 90 mins HD Video onto Standard dvds using AVCHD system that plays back in HD on the VRD-MC-10 via an HDMI cable to your HDTV or its recorded discs will also play on Sony & Panasonic bluray DVD players in 1090 x 1920 HD. No bluray RW blank discs are needed. It works with regular inexpensive standard recordable blank dvds in either + or - and DL. You simply insert the Duo-Memory Stick into its built in Card Reader and press record. It offers some editing features and chapters plus graphics selection to add zest to your production. Best of all it is inexpensive to buy at around 325 dollars and the standard DVD blank discs cost pennies each to record in FULL 1090 x 1920 HD for 90 minutes of camcorder footage you can play back right away on your VRD MC-10 as a player too or put them in your bluray player and play them. It supports 5.1 channel Dolby Digital Sound Recording as well.

I love the player, etc. Good quality video, but the box came without the HDMI cable and I had to buy separately. The player also had the lead.

If you’re still living back in the days when Plasma TVs were only supposed to last a short time then you need to drag yourself back into current reality.
The truth is, a Plasma HDTV can last you up to half a lifetime - that’s no exageration with several major companies including Panasonic, Samsung and Pioneer listing longevity of up to 60,000 hours.
Equivalent Longevity To LCD TVs
This now means plasma TVs are now equal to LCDs in longevity which is impressive considering LCDs were supposed to run them out of town when they first hit the market and many were shouting the “death of plasma.”

Viera Cast will not access Netflix or Hulu. No firmware upgrade planned to correct per Panasonic press releases.
